Goodness! We have so much to look forward to in your garden, Daisy. Can't wait! BTW, that is an astonishing photo of a potato going to seed!

I am particularly looking forward to the Ranunculus. It's is hard to believe they are from the buttercup family.

You really do have spring up your nose Daisy! I too have greenhouse and potting shed envy. I once had a cheap small glass greenhouse, 6x4 feet, and even that was fabulous. Smelled amazing in the summer, just wonderful. By far my most successful potato crops have been grown in tub trugs, with very little attention, and they were gorgeous just boiled with a lake of butter — I hope yours are as successful, you'll love them. 🥔🥔🥔

Tub trugs, they sound interesting. Greenhouses are lovely places. I love the one at Kew., two storey greenhouse is the ultimate. 😍

Thank you SO much for this recommendation, and for sharing our polytunnel. Andrew is feeling very proud :-) He was the one who championed it, I was like 'are you sure we need something this big?'

I'm already enjoying the first tulips, and also rocket and spinach is thriving. And I too have major potting shed envy. I love Monty's potting shed so much. My potting space is so disorganised right now.

It is a beauty, I'm glad you are reaping the rewards already. I bet it is lovely and warm in there when the sun shines through.

Good to hear I am not alone in potting shed envy. 🤣 Here's to a wonderful growing season for us both, despite the lack of one. 🙏🙏💚💚

Yes the sight of even the weakest sunshine compels me to get out into the garden. Yesterday & today the starting pistol fired & its eyes down for another growing year.

1st early potatoes now planted - I couldn’t resist. Now it’s a manic weather check every day for frosts.

Sowed some sugar snap peas in trays in the greenhouse albeit spent a good hour tidying g up the said greenhouse of all that had been dumped in it over the winter. Lol

Also sowed some tomatoes, cucumbers , broad beans in trays in the greenhouse. The broad beans I sowed in October are looking good in the veg beds so it’s 🤞

Anyway, we’re off ! And it’s just wonderful to get outside again & in amongst it.

Happy gardening everyone.

Good luck with all your produce. I'm sure the greenhouse will afford them some much needed early shelter. Happy Gardening!

I am growing whatever is brave enough to come up on its own. I tried some propagating, and last year did manage to get some plant that I don't know the name of, but it has purple foliage, so it always looks good. Tough as old boots too, so that's a bonus for the brown-fingered gardener.

I’ve just ordered my 1st ever dahlias… whether they’ll flower gloriously in my tiny shaded, north-facing garden is anyone’s guess.

I hope they will flower for you, bringing joy minus the earwigs.
